The Best Green Moringa Smoothie

Two Father’s Day ago, my friend and colleague Andre Jonson called me and told me to get some moringa fast. Moringa is a superfood from Africa full of nutrients. Dre informed me that Moringa has more calcium than milk, more iron than spinach, more vitamin C than oranges, and so on.

Through trial and error, I developed what I think is an amazing Moringa smoothie. Here is the recipe:

1/2-1 tablespoon of moringa powder
1/2 tablespoon of ceylon cinnamon
5 tablespoons of brown flax seeds
1/4 teaspoon of Liquid Stevia Extract from Whole Foods (or to taste)
dash of turmeric
dash of cayenne
dash of sea salt
3 oz of kale
1 medium lemon
1 medium green apple
2 cups of water
a thumb sized piece of fresh, peeled turmeric (optional)
1 Tablespoon of fresh ginger (optional)

These blend times are for the Vitamix
Blend water, flax seeds, turmeric and ginger for 15-20 seconds at High
Put in the rest and blend 5-10 seconds at 10

Stevia haters may substitute one and a half tablespoon of honey or an alternative
